Tyler represents both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of matters in both state and federal courts as well as matters in front of administrative agencies and arbitration panels. He has experience with disputes involving breaches of contract, business torts, securities and financial products, antitrust, intellectual property, defamation and unfair competition, class actions, mass torts, multidistrict litigation, and white-collar defense.

Before returning home to Nashville and joining Sims|Funk, Tyler litigated in the New York offices of Boies Schiller Flexner and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and clerked for James E. Graves Jr. of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, William O. Bertelsman of the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Walter E. Johnson of the Northern District of Georgia. Tyler attended Vanderbilt University Law School where he was Senior Articles Editor for the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. He holds a master’s degree in childhood education from Pace University in New York City and bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and music business from Middle Tennessee State University. Before law school, Tyler spent three years teaching special education in the Bronx as a New York City Teaching Fellow.
